Get to Know Our Team at Hartstone Bible Camp
Meet Dave & Julie Dick
Dave Dick is the Executive Director of the Hartstone Bible Camp. He was born and raised in Ukiah, California and became a Christian in high school. (Click here to read Dave’s testimony) Shortly after his conversion, he believed God was calling him into full-time occupational ministry. After high school he became very involved in his local church where he gained experience in various types of ministry. He graduated with an AA degree from the Mendocino College and transferred to The Master’s University. In 2005 he received his BA in Biblical Studies with a minor in Student Ministries. It was there that he met his wonderful bride, Julie. During his time at Master’s, Dave served as an R.A. (Resident Assistant over a dormitory) and was heavily involved in student leadership. He also served on staff at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, CA as the Worship in Music Director for the High School Student Ministries Department. After he graduated, he accepted an Associate Pastor position back in his hometown. He oversaw College, High School, and Junior High School Student Ministries as well as the Music Ministry in the church. He also has secondary teaching experience at a private Christian school where he taught Junior and Senior High School Bible Classes. Dave plays the guitar and has a deep love for music and leading God’s people in worship. In his earlier years as a Christian, he had the opportunity to be a part of a Christian rock band touring throughout the state and producing albums. (Click here to listen on Spotify or Apple Music). Currently, he enjoys serving in the worship music needs of his local church and leading and writing children’s church songs. In regard to the Christian Camping Ministry, Dave has a huge passion and conviction to see it thrive. Not only being personally affected by coming to faith in Jesus Christ at a camp, Dave has served as a camp counselor, camp program staff leader, camp music director, and camp speaker. He also ministers through preaching, he has been a guest speaker for various Academic Chapels, Church Services, Retreats/Conferences and some Television and Radio. Dave became the Director of the Hartstone Bible Camp in 2014 and is currently pursuing his MDiv at the Cornerstone Seminary. He has a deep love for Christ and His Church and is excited to serve in fulfilling Hartstone Bible Camp's Mission Statement, which is: "To share Christ's love by serving churches through a camp experience." Julie is a full-time wife, mother, and home school teacher. As the former Food Service Manager at Hartstone, she now enjoys focusing on the responsibilities of her home and assisting Hartstone on the side when needed. Julie has a great love for volleyball and enjoys coaching and officiating local girls teams throughout the county. (Click here to read Julie’s testimony) Both Dave and Julie are actively involved in the Potter Valley Bible Church and help with leading in the worship through music ministry and overseeing the Children’s Church ministry together. They love being a part of the Potter Valley Community and feel so blessed to live and serve in such an incredible place. Dave and Julie have four children: Darcy, Zoey, Maylee, and Stetson.

Meet Zech & Brianne Browning
Zech grew up in Northern California with a great enjoyment for the outdoors. Brianne grew up all over the Northwestern United States with a dedication to family and hard work. They met at Montana State University in Bozeman, MT in 2001 through a common passion for country dancing. They married in Middletown CA in 2006 and are blessed to have five children. For the majority of their married life, the Browning’s have been a ranch family raising Angus cattle, with Zech dabbling in Law Enforcement for a short time. They have always desired to serve on a mission field, envisioning the timing to be when their children were grown and out of the house. But to their surprise and delight, God has opened an opportunity for them to live this dream early while raising their family in a full-time ministry context. Man plans his ways, but the Lord directs his steps! -Proverbs 16:9
Zech serves as Hartstone’s Projects & Repairs Manager where he is responsible for all emergency repairs, preventative maintenance repairs, and all building projects and upgrades to the camp. (Click here to read Zech’s testimony) Brianne is a full time wife and mother along with homeschooling their children. Brianne has extensive background in the food industry where she and Zech ran their own restaurant. When Brianne has opportunity she loves to volunteer and help where needed. Not only does she have great experience giving input to Hartstone’s food reputation, she also has a great eye for design decorating. Hartstone is blessed to have her and her wonderful ideas and support. (Click here to read Brianne’s testimony) We praise God for His timing and provision in bringing the Browning family to Hartstone.
VOLUNTEER WITH HARTSTONE
Spend Your Summer at Our Northern California Christian Campground!
Are you interested in joining the team at our Christian campground and conference retreat center in Northern California? Without the work of our team members, we would not be able to serve our campers and provide a Christ-centered camp experience for the many churches and ministries we serve throughout our area. Close to Blue Lakes, Lake Mendocino, Lake Pillsbury, and just an hour from the Mendocino Coast, Hartstone is a great place to serve the Lord while enjoying His marvelous creation. Our fall and spring staff groups at Hartstone Bible Camp are made up of all volunteer positions. During the summer, we have between 10 and 15 paid positions available for our Summer Staff.
If you are interested in volunteering or joining us for the summer, please contact the Camp Director—and be sure to watch our past Summer Staff videos below for a little glimpse of what it's like to spend your summer at Hartstone!
