Meet Dave & Julie Dick

Dave Dick is the Executive Director of the Hartstone Bible Camp. He was born and raised in Ukiah California and became a Christian in high school. (Click here to read Dave’s testimony) He graduated from The Master’s University in 2005 with a degree in Biblical Studies. It was during his time at Master’s where he met his wonderful bride, Julie. While in college, he served in different student leadership roles and was also the worship through music director for the High School Student Ministry at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, CA. After graduation, Dave accepted an Associate Pastor position from the Ukiah Bible Church where he oversaw Student and Music Ministries. At the same time, he served as a Bible teacher at the Deep Valley Christian School in Redwood Valley, CA. Dave also sings and plays the guitar and has a deep love for music and leading God’s people in worship through song. In his earlier years as a Christian, he had the opportunity to be a part of a Christian rock band. (Click here to listen to “Room 3" on Spotify or Apple Music). In regard to the Christian Camping Ministry, Dave has a deep love to see it thrive. Not only being personally affected by coming to faith in Jesus Christ at a camp, he has served in many roles from camp counselor, to program staff leader, camp music director, and camp speaker. Dave also ministers through preaching, he has been a guest speaker for various Academic Chapels, Church Services, Retreats/Conferences and some Television and Radio. Dave became the Director of the Hartstone Bible Camp in 2014 and has a deep love for Christ and His Church and is excited to serve in fulfilling Hartstone Bible Camp's Mission Statement, which is: "To share Christ's love by serving churches through a camp experience."

Julie is a full-time wife, mother, and home schoolteacher. She also serves as Hartstone’s Secretary and Administrative Assistant to Dave and enjoys serving in the kitchen when needed. Julie loves cooking and shopping at Costco. Whether it’s for camp, church, or other special events, she loves ministering to people through their tastebuds, you can truly taste the love! Julie’s favorite sport is volleyball. She plays competitively and officiates local College and High School games. (Click here to read Julie’s testimony)

Both Dave and Julie are actively involved in the Potter Valley Bible Church and help with leading in the worship through music ministry and overseeing the Children’s Church ministry together. They love being a part of the Potter Valley Community and feel so blessed to live and serve in such an incredible place. Dave and Julie have four children: Darcy, Zoey, Maylee, and Stetson.

Kyrstyn serves as Hartstone’s Food Service Manager where she is responsible for meal planning, inventory, food ordering, scheduling and leading the kitchen staff. She loves having fun in the kitchen cooking, baking, and serving meals to Hartstone’s guests. (Click here to read Kyrstyn’s testimony)

In high school, Joel and Kyrstyn first volunteered at Hartstone and then worked a couple of summers as seasonal part-time staff. They were married at Hartstone in June of 2018 and spent that summer serving on staff again. In the fall of 2018, they were hired on as full-time ministry staff. The Thompson’s have a son named Jude and are enjoying serving the Lord together in the ministry of Hartstone.

7. Zech & Brianne Browning.JPG

Meet Zech & Brianne Browning

Zech serves as Hartstone’s Projects & Repairs Manager where he is responsible for all emergency and preventative maintenance repairs and all building projects and upgrades to the camp. (Click here to read Zech’s testimony) Zech grew up in Northern California with a great enjoyment for the outdoors.

Brianne grew up all over the Northwestern United States with a dedication to family and hard work. She is a full-time wife and mother along with homeschooling their children. When she has opportunity, she loves to volunteer and help wherever needed around camp. Brianne serves as Hartstone’s Décor and Merchandise Manager overseeing the beauty and feel of the camp. From signage to souvenirs, the cozy inviting style of Hartstone is experienced through Brianne’s great eye for decorating and creative imagination that makes Hartstone look and feel the way it does. (Click here to read Brianne’s testimony)

Zech and Brianne met at Montana State University in Bozeman, MT in 2001 through a common passion for country dancing. They married in Middletown CA in 2006 and are blessed to have five children. For the majority of their married life, the Browning’s have been a ranch family raising angus cattle and also ran their own restaurant for a while. They have always desired to serve on a mission field, envisioning the timing to be when their children were grown and out of the house. But to their surprise and delight, God has opened an opportunity for them to live this dream early while raising their family in a full-time ministry context. Man plans his ways, but the Lord directs his steps! - Proverbs 16:9

SERVE AT HARTSTONE

Spend Your Summer At Our Northern California Christian Campground!

Are you interested in joining the team at our Christian campground and conference retreat center in Northern California? Without the work of our team members, we would not be able to serve our campers and provide a Christ-centered camp experience for the many churches and ministries we serve throughout our area. Close to Blue Lakes, Lake Mendocino, Lake Pillsbury, and just an hour from the Mendocino Coast, Hartstone is a great place to serve the Lord while enjoying His marvelous creation. Our fall and spring staff groups at Hartstone Bible Camp are made up of all volunteer positions. Our spring and fall camps are primarily staffed using volunteers. We are closed during the winter season and have paid positions in the summer. The summer season normally runs from the middle of June through the middle of August

If you are interested in volunteering or serving on summer staff, please contact us. Be sure to watch our past year summer staff video below to get a glimpse of what it’s like to spend your summer at Hartstone!
